I said a stupid sarcastic comment, and it led to an argument, followed by me getting owned, and something like that.LitDN wrote:So... what was the original question the thread starter wanted to answer again?
Now everyone thinks I'm a complete idiot and I've lost all credibility when it comes to maths.
Doesn't matter, I'll prove to the maths teachers next year I'm not just an idiot kid who remembers formulae.

Why would we think you're a complete idiot? Maths teachers might, but not students. You're still the maths nerd to us. No one would expect you to be able to beat a maths teacher (especially not one that teaches extension 2) when it comes to maths.
We love you Thai =)

Nah I wasn't trying to "beat" Mr. Simmons, but rather try to explain what I meant (although I failed at that) o_O".
Regardless, it was an interesting conversation (nerd, lol?).

Liang, I will hunt you down for making my brain hurt.

No one told you to answer the question. (How do you answer it anyway? )

And also, replying to Sandra:
I remember how long it took for Mrs. Cook to be convinced I wasn't just some fool haha. That was lame, because then she stopped taking me seriously when I kept saying, "I dunno how to do it".
EDIT: I think me and Mr Simmons have created the most interesting topic on this forum. I still say we should have a general forum for discussing work/school/etc.

Re: permutations
Ummm, whilst we're on the subject:
Are perms and combs a part of year 11 or year 12? According to some of my textbooks they're in year 12, but like I did it ages ago o_O

Some schools do it in Year 11, some do it in Year 12.
The difference with maths to other subjects is that Preliminary can be tested in the HSC, so the order schools do the different topics can vary.

Re: permutations
Actually we are doing it with Year 12 at the moment.
That doesn't necessarily mean it will be the same for you guys as some times we vary the order of topics ourselves.
Over the past few years it has been in Year 12.
