Online is 12 units; Offline is 13. Basically you have to do maths during sport if you do 13.chrisk wrote:What is the difference between offline and online maths extension classes?

14 would mean morning/afternoon classes. I don't think you're allowed to take 14.

I think you can.tranquil1ty wrote:14 would mean morning/afternoon classes. I don't think you're allowed to take 14.
From the subject selection booklet:
- Total your A units, it will be 2 if you only selected English – Advanced or 3 if you selected both Courses.
- Total your B units, it will be 9, 10 or 11.
Does anyone else find this weird/funny:
Will you be studying at Baulkham Hills High School in 2010?
Each year some students change schools due to a variety of reasons such as moving to a new house that is too far away from the school to travel each day.
No mention of moving to Ruse *glares at a. liang*

Well sorry, but I don't spend all my time reading the internet about the HSC and subject selection. I just assumed 14 was impractical.

Actually tranquil1ty is correct, you cannot do 14 units at school in Year 11.tranquil1ty wrote:chrisk wrote:I think you can.tranquil1ty wrote:14 would mean morning/afternoon classes. I don't think you're allowed to take 14.

The regular timetable allows you to do 12 units, (1 unit = 3 periods), some students choose 13 units, the extra 3 periods coming from sport (2) and scripture (1).
If you wanted to do 14 units, then before/after school is the only place to put it.
In Year 11 we don't do that, because in Year 12 some will pick up Ext2 Maths, Ext2 English, Ext History, Ext Language, Ext Music, etc and may not drop any subjects, perhaps ending up with 14 + units.
If there were already some subjects running before and after school, it would be too hard to fit all of the Extension subjects as well, and in a school like ours there are going to be plenty of students wanting to do Extension subjects.
The only students that end up doing more than 13 units in Year 11 are those who maybe doing a Saturday School language outside of school.
Trust me though, workload wise, 13 units is plenty.
