Re: Accounting
Accounting is done at TAFE which means leaving school at lunchtime in order to get to TAFE. This also means you will miss periods 7 & 8 on that day, every week.
Teachers do not generally want you to miss that many lessons in a year, so it needs to be done on a Wednesday afternoon i.e. during sport.
The last few years only Blacktown TAFE offered Accounting on a Wednesday afternoon.
So what does this all mean;
Acoounting Course info can be found here
The other way it could be done is via OTEN, this would mean studying it online.
We have never had anyone do it this way, but it is an option that could be investigated.
OTEN Accounting info can be found here
If you are interested in doing Accounting, put it on your Subject Selection Form (to be handed out on Friday)

- you could only do 12 units at Baulko (the 13th unit is done during sport)
- you would need to get to Blacktown TAFE by 2 pm (lessons go from 2pm to 6pm each week)

Re: Accounting
They're actually thinking of holding one at Baulkham Hills Tafe, from 1:30-5:30 on Wednesday. See: https://www.tafensw.edu.au/howex/servlet/Course?Command=GetTvetOfferingStudy&TvetCourseId=V1676&rec=638509&loc=82

No the Baulko TAFE is for students doing the whole course in one year, rather than spreading it over two.
You would have to attend both the Monday and Wednesday session to do this.
The Baulko TAFE course is on Monday afternoon (for those doing it over two years)

For the OTEN program, are we alloted periods (such as during free periods) where we can study it? or is it done outside of school. Is this also a 2 unit course?
Thnx

Re: Accounting
You would still need to do at least 12 units at Baulko.
The Accounting would be additional units in Year 11. Not everybody copes with studying independently, which is what you would be doing with OTEN, so we need to have the option of you being able to drop the OTEN and still satisfy the Preliminary requirements.
Its not a problem we have come across before, as nobody has taken the OTEN option before.
