How does the subject selection process work if you're not going to be at Baulko in year 11? (btw that doesn't mean that I'm trying for ruse XD - this is just so that other people can use it)

haha...

I guess you don't choose subjects on the Baulko form, but do it at the other school, whatever that may be.

Plus, you should let the Principal know so that an offer can be made for your position to a new student. (from the subject selection booklet)

XD so incriminating - btw, i don't think anyone leaving baulko actually tells the principal; the department of education has it all under control

Well you would have to ask the new school that question, but to give you an idea what happens here.

Our current students i.e. you guys, determine what the lines will be and what subjects will run via your selections. Any new students to our school have to fit in to where the vacancies are.

And chrisk is right, as soon as anyone knows that they will not be here next year needs to let the Principal know straight away, so that an offer can be made to someone else (and believe me there are alot of people who want to be at our school).

It is only fair that you do this, as clearly at the new school someone did this so that you could be offered a position, you should show the same courtesy.

i don't think anyone leaving baulko actually tells the principal; the department of education has it all under control

Yes the DET will eventually let us know, I'm saying the right thing to do is to let the Principal to know, its calleed common courtesy.

Actually, do you know how many people are leaving?
I think they're expecting about 20 new people.

We go over 180 in year 11. Usually 190-195 I think.

Yes we will take another 10 to 15, but that is in addition to our existing 180. So if, heaven forbid, people leave, then we would invite more students.

Oh yeah, I was right! Very Happy

And I still don't see why people would leave. There are way more disadvantages than advantages (if any).

Leaving the school... Just seems a bit unfair that the new students may have more limited choice on subjects.

Some people may not like how the school works. In case you haven't noticed, Baulko is very science-and-maths driven, and that is not the case for some of the students here. Some may want to leave because they don't like the limited amount of subjects available to them away from the sciences.

The school may be great in general, but it's very poor if people want to take things like dance, woodwork, languages-other-than-japanese-and-latin, etc.

Why would they choose Baulko in year 6 then? James Ruse doesn't do those things either, and that's where the majority (if not all) people go to.

James Ruse doesn't even offer Legal or Business cause they scale so bad. The most ridiculous part is that part of the REASON they don't scale well is cause Ruse doesn't offer them =S

People do change over the course of four years. Razz And the only reason people go to Ruse is because of the parents.

Oh, the parents, the parents.

Oh, the parents, the parents.

Completely untrue. I'm considering because Ruse is much closer (moar sleep!) + I know a lot of people from Ruse. My parents are actually discouraging me from moving because they think I was lucky enough to get into Baulko in the first place. And they don't wanna spend $120 on the test when I'm not even sure I'll go if I get a position.
