Do we just pick subjects and get allocated timetables based on those subjects?

On Monday, we'll be getting our booklets + a form saying what are our draft preferences. I think lines will be developed from those surveys and from that we make our final decision.

I think.

@chris, nah we're not getting our booklets, Savage says that they're in E-FORM this year. How stupid. It's already on the school website and Savage has copies for herself methinks.

Mrs. Savage. Remember, you're on a school forum. One wrong move and BAM, ARVO!

But it's the SCHOOL forums. It's like being in the classroom, only with 20 teachers instead of one. And only like 5 students (currently) instead of 30. Scary!

Yeah but I'm sure it'd be fine if I went up to Mrs Savage in real life and went "Sup Savvy". Not really much of a problem if you ask me ahaha

So there are no lines? Empty The lines will come eventually

Post  simmonsn on Fri Jul 03, 2009 1:32 pm

There will be lines eventually, however there is a couple of things that must be done;

Your first selection form (which you will get next Friday), is a free choice of subjects.

Based upon your choices the lines are then formed, English will be in a line by itself as everyone has to do it, the other 5 lines are formed purely by your choices.

It is similar to what happened in Year 8 (Year 9 selections), but with more lines to play with it should end up giving you greater choice. (That's the theory anyway)

I'll be able to explain this in a bit more detail next Friday.

So there are no lines? Empty About the booklets

Post  simmonsn on Fri Jul 03, 2009 1:52 pm

khfreakau wrote:@chris, nah we're not getting our booklets, Savage says that they're in E-FORM this year. How stupid. It's already on the school website and Savage has copies for herself methinks.

I decided that this year I'd put it in pdf form on the school website to save ALOT of wasted paper.

Think about it, the booklet is 50 pages long, times 180 students + 30 for careers + an extra 20 or so for new students and teachers etc = 5750 sheets of paper (if done back to back), 11 1/2 reems of paper!!!

Alot of the paper is wasted, as you may only be interested in a small proportion of the subjects.

This way you can just print off the pages you are interested in.

So don't blame Mrs Savage, it was me.

P.S. People were right to mention this forum is a school forum, everyone should keep that in mind and show everyone (students included) the respect they deserve.

P.P.S. However I don't think just using a surname is offensive (otherwise I would have deleted it), of course you can always go back and edit it and add in a Mrs.

P.P.P.S. Of course if you do that then people will read this and wonder what on earth I'm talking about!!!

^Above

If by people, you mean Mr. Tanium the only, then yes. Very Happy

Also, I agree with the wasted paper. Most people already have a solid idea of which subjects they are taking already anyway and would probably just have a quick read of the booklet and throw it in the bin.

Oh yes, the notorious "Green Group" as they like to call themself. It's just a conspiracy... they say that they are saving paper by making it in e-format and this will save the environment... but they forgot one thing. MORE ELECTRICITY WILL BE WASTED AS A RESULT.

Look on the bright side, it is going to be last two periods, so that has two positives;

1. no lessons after lunch on the last day.

2. you still get to do maths as it is first two periods!!!!

We are starting to get off topic, lets keep it to a discussion about the lines (I seem to remember that was the start of this thread).

Maybe we need a school forum to discuss these big issues!!!

I think you should make a new section for "off-topic" or "general discussions". Most forums have them.

Most schools have already implemeted an E-FORM system for subject selections. OUR SCHOOL HAS FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH THE TIMES (for one little thing)
